TreeGuards
TreeGuards are plastic sleeves that allow light through their side walls, but:
- Protects broadleaves during the critical first years from rabbits, deer and wind.
- Allows herbicide to be sprayed around the base without the risk of contacting the young tree. Weeds steal light and moisture--and often kill (or stunt) more seedlings than deer or rabbits.
| Specs |
TreeGuards are 36" long, 3" diameter, double-wall, light-brown plastic. |
| Installation |
It only takes a minute to place the TreeGuard tube around the young tree and slide a 3/8" FiberRod™ post (sold separately--see Accessories) through the precut holes. We do this in the spring and push the FiberRod posts into the soil (10") by hand. (If deer aren't a concern, you can save $$ by cutting the 36" TreeGuards in half and using 3' FiberRods.) |
| Warranty |
TreeGuards last about 5 years. FiberRod posts will last 10-plus years. |
