PoultryNet™ 12/48/3 Electric Netting
It's an 48 in. electrifiable prefabricated fence. It arrives at your door as a complete roll with the posts already built into the mesh/fence.
White vertical plastic strings are "welded" to black and white electro-plastic horizontal strings. They are supported by .6 inch diameter white plastic PVC posts--which are spaced throughout the netting. Each post has a small, steel spike that is to be inserted into the ground for support.
Just attach a fence energizer and it's ready to keep poultry in and their predators out. One roll (164 ft) weighs only 24 lbs.

| Precautions |
Note: Not effective with baby chicks that are small enough to crawl through the net openings and therefore are not deterred by the electric shock. This is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose. This net will need extra supports posts. Use them at the corners and ends for sure. Extra posts may be needed elsewhere as well. Dry conditions and wintertime usages—may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Dry or frozen ground many cause the NetPost spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. |
| Troubleshooting |
If the voltage drops below 3000v on the net, you need to turn off the energizer and unhook the net from the energizer. Test just the energizer by itself. If the voltage is 5000v or higher on the energizer the problem is in the net. The most common problem is that the lowest 'hot' strand has been caught around one of the metal spikes on the posts and is shorting it out. The net must be at least 2" away from anything metal (metal posts, existing fences, spikes on support posts). |

With its many horizontal and vertical lines 48” PoultryNet can be a little heavy to move. Better suited for flightier chickens than 42” net. If you plan on moving your birds use this, if not, use Permanet 10/48/3.

I spent 4 hours trying to get the fence energized around my garden.It is difficult to get tight enough to keep the energized lines from touching the ground and I guess somewhere, that we were unable to find, the bare dirt grounded it out. My husband who is a lineman spend about an hour on it too, with no success. I finally decited to set it up in the field and keep the chickens in it instead of fencing them out of the garden. IT is working better there. After 4 days in the field there has only been one get out. She flew right over. It needs extra support posts for sure, and I too found the directions on how to energize it didn't help me since I didn't buy their energizer. Getting in and out isn't real easy, you have to de-energize it every time. I guess I'll have to spend another $50.00 for the gate.

I wish I had read the reviews before spending the money on this fence. Unless you add a lot of support, at an additional cost, the fence sags with at least 1/3 of the netting touching the ground. Part of the problem is the flimsy posts that are spaced too far apart. They are only slightly more rigid than common garden hose. Then Premier is very vague about the kind of charger you should use so that you end up buying one from them. I relied on Premier not to sell garbage but this was a $650 mistake. I have also tried two different chargers (AC and Solar) and have not been able to get the net energized.

The double spike posts, being all metal with a point, make it very easy to put up these nets. I had tried a competitor's nets that had a step in post, which don't even last two moves. I believe that the posts on these nets will last a very long time. Even after the nets of some old single spike posts wore out years ago, I still use the single spike posts for marking things like where a fence post goes. The posts last forever. My only complaint is that the posts are a little too flexible. Other than that, I LOVE them!

Great netting. We had already been using 6 strands of sheep netting for our ewes. I wish we purchased this netting from the beginning, as it works great for poultry AND sheep. The sheep netting does not work well for poultry, unless the birds are used to the mesh. We will definitely be ordering more as we grow, and if Premier1 continues to make quality, affordable products.

I purchased 3 lengths of the poultrynet fencing, on advice of other sheep producers. The smaller mesh holes in the poultry version being too small for lambs to get their heads into. Unfortunately the top of the fence has many hole that a lamb can get their head into while trying to jump the fence.
I have lost 2 lambs to this fence and I am not at all pleased with this product.
The first problem is that the poles are not correctly spaced to keep the net from contacting the ground, which means that either you have to mow a path for the fence or you need to add posts, or you need to tie up the center of the mesh to keep it from being ground out.
Even with short grass, this fence has strangled two of my lambs to death. I wanted a solution to prevent my sheep from being eaten by coyotes while grazing pastures remote from the house, and in retrospect, I have now lost more sheep to this fence than I usually lose from coyotes in a typical season. I would have been better off with coyotes.

This fence sags too much and has far too many bottom horizontal wires to send enough electricity through the fence. I mowed the grass under the fence like a golf course and spent a lot of time making it super tight, and it still wouldn't send a significant charge through the fence. My chickens hop on the fence and then right over it. A friend of mine bought the same fence and cut off the bottom three wires and now it sends enough of a charge through the fence. I am curious how this fence works for anyone, but I imagine it does since most ratings are positive. That said, I am very happy with all my other Premier products, I would just steer clear of this fence.

The net appears sturdy and durable and is easy to install. The double spikes are essential as they provide an easy means to step on the spike to push it into the ground and prevent it from easily being pushed over. I do NOT recommend the 164' PoultryNet because the posts are spaced too far apart and are not rigid enough to keep the bottom row or two of wires from sagging on the ground, shorting out the fence. Perhaps the PoultryNet Plus would work, but it is not available in the 164' length. However, since the built-in posts and the corner kit posts are all flexible and bend easily, I'm not confident the PoultryNet Plus won't have sagging issues as well.

I found this product to work fantastic. I love the double spike which makes it very easy to push it into our tough clay soil with one foot. The fence is also very rigid compared to others I had purchased before. I will always use Premier1 for my electric fencing needs.

I use this poultry netting to allow my chickens some free range without exposing them to predators or my yard to their messes. It's easy to move and set up; I do it by myself. Make sure you read the directions about keeping it folded correctly carefully so you don't have a tangled mess. Exactly as described! Out of the box and ready to use in a few minutes. Our first setup snaked out of the barn and through a gate to a nice circle for our young layers to get their first taste of the outdoors. Even with an S shape the net does well supported by a few extra plastic posts. The birds are still a bit small and can wiggle through, but they get a series of shocks as they squeeze through and aren't likely to do it again. We ordered two poultry nets and used one to move the sheep and contain them for a few days while we reconfigured the electric fence paddocks they are normally in. Very Versatile!!! I can see how the PLUS netting would be beneficial if you had to make turns or go over uneven ground, but this netting is more than adequate for our gently sloped property and planned use for containing/protecting around 200 laying hens.

This is the second length of the 12/48/3 poultry net that i've purchased. The first one worked quite well and i decided to purchase a second for easier rotation of our animals.
The fence is of high quality construction, which is typical and expected from Premier, in my opinion. Solid and mostly thoughtful construction.
My one complaint about this fence is that it came with an odd number of panels (17 total), which means it is impossible to set up as a square without purchasing additional posts, or removing one post and re-working it to have equally sized panels again. Quite annoying to me, especially considering the 82' length comes with an even number (8 panels). I can't fathom the reason for this, and customer support pretty much told me they don't care and that i should buy more posts.

This product is great! Could they provide a better product? Yes, but not at this cost. There is not another fence product I could put up this fast, move this easily, for as little money than poultry netting.

What I have: 164’ PoultryNet 12/48/3, double spike. I used my own fence 15 mile fence charger that I had, and I got plastic post from Tractor Supply for the corners. My soil is clay, and it was wet and soft when I installed.

I watched the installation video on the website. Then went out and had it up very quickly with just me and my 3 year old. It is easy to layout and put up. It might not be easy if you do not watch the video though. When I first put it up I thought of a couple things that would make it better. I admit the posts in the netting seemed a little flimsy at first. But everything I thought of would have made it heavier and more expensive. The sign of a good design is the right compromise. The only thing some might find worth the extra money is the closer posts, which can be had with PoultryNet Plus. To me the shorter lengths, extra weight, and extra money are not worth it, but if a little sagging really bothers you then get the Plus. The more solid the corner posts the tighter you can get the net. I might try small metal posts for the corners in the future.

Only a few days in but so far very happy. I had chickens for 2 years before the bobcat found us, then i lost them all over 6 months. We shall see what it thinks of the electric! Fence does sag, but still packs a punch with the 10mile solar charger i have. So far has kept my curious dogs out. Smaller birds are still going through it, but i suspect only until they get the jolt. My recommendation, read the instructions before setting up. It was very easy, but i can see how you would get in a mess pretty quickly if you didn't do it right.

The netting looks like it will definitely keep my young geese and my call ducks in, and predators out effectively, but I've been a little frustrated about how much it sags. I'm trying to solve that by adding extra posts, but I still have concerns about the sparking where the net may still touch the ground. I do like how easy it is to move around, and customer support has been excellent. Premier has acknowledged the sagging problem. Next time I will order their new Poultry Net Plus. In the meantime,I'll add more of the white plastic posts with clips.

I wouldn't recommend the "Plus" fencing because of the weight and bulk of the extra poles. I have 164' lengths of electric netting w/10' spans that I put up and take down for my sheep and it is easier to handle than the 100' roll of Poultry Plus with the extra poles.

Just bought two more rolls of the poultry netting. It is great stuff! I strongly recommend getting the double spike, unless you have very soft soils. A friend has the single spike and struggles to get the posts in the ground. With the double spike, you just step on the posts to push them in - no struggle. Believe everything that is said about needing the support posts for corners; the posts that are part of the fence are semi-flexible, so plan on additional supports where you turn corners or occasionally where it will sag around curves. Use a good charger to get a good zap. PRS 50 solar charger works well for me.

I really like this fence and as always it was easy to set up. After adding a replacement post between the original posts it was perfect.
I thought about ordering the plus version but the double spikes are not an option in my extremely rocky area. The extra posts really helped keep the lower conductive strands off of the ground.

Terrific Product! Very simple to deploy and set-up, even with just one person. I highly recommend the double-spike version; the uprights are absolutely solid despite rain-soaked soft soil. The 100ft poultry netting is safely and effectively containing my 12 two-month old Golden Comet pullets. I will most likely order a second 100ft strand as the chickens mature. I'd like to enclose a 50ft x 50ft area and subdivide it into four paddocks, rotated every week. This should give each paddock three weeks to recover. Better forage (plants and bugs!).

We love this fencing! It works great for poultry, goats, and sheep. This is the only fencing our goats haven't escaped from. It's relatively easy to move around to allow us to rotational graze our pastures. The only negative is that I wouldn't call it Poultry Net - I'd name it something more versatile!

Just purchased my 2nd fence to enlarge the area our chickens can free range safely. Fence works great to keep our dogs and other predators at bay. I can easily move the netting myself in less than 30-40 minutes with little issue. It does droop between posts, but a few extra posts placed strategically solves the issue. Will probably end up purchasing a 3rd net soon to create chicken paddocks so I don't have to worry about moving the netting, just move the chickens.

I love my recently purchased rolls of 164' single spike poultry fence. I have used it on broilers, laying hens, and even had a need to use it on my herd of nubian goats and it works wonderfully. One roll is used in a field where our cows graze and they no longer bother the broilers. We move it ever couple of days and it is so convenient and easy, my young daughters and I finish the chore in 15 to 20 minutes. Would have purchased the double spike, but they were on back order and I had no patience to wait. The single spike works better in some soil then others, however the convenience of moving it make up for any slight leaning it might do. Just stop by and readjust the poles and go on. Extremely easy to charge, we use solar charges we already had on other fence lines.

I got this fence because my free ranging chickens were venturing a bit too far and the coyotes started picking off the more adventurous ones. Time to keep the girls closer to home.
This fence seems to be of very good quality and is easy to set up and move. I have not electrified it yet, but it definitely keeps everyone where I want them, including the banties who I thought would fly right out. We added a few stouter posts to support it in places and that helps the sagging problem that others have mentioned. I am really glad we got this and look forward to moving it around for our good girls.

I LOVE my new fence! The difference is amazing. This one is so much easier for me to move than what I had. Before, when I needed to move the chickens, it was a 2 or 3 person job and took about an hour. Now, I can do it all by myself and it takes about 15-20 minutes. That is worth A LOT to me.
Even better is that, since the whole fence is electric, the cows can no longer knock the chicken fence down. Talk about peace of mind.
Me and my birds are very pleased.
One negative is that it does sag a bit between polls. Mostly that isn't a problem, but I have had to use a few extra step-in posts to give it a little extra support. Also, even though I went with the double-pronged posts, the fence has tipped a bit in heavy wind. I think that it's really a combination of heavy wind and soft ground from the rain.
All in all though, I'm very pleased.

I use a lot of net products on our farm for both our poultry and our sheep & cattle. I move some form of net almost every day.
Poultry net is not designed very well to be moved on a regular basis. We move it weekly for older turkeys that day range. It works fine, but gets very droopy in the middle as it ages and requires additional support or a very robust charger. The 164 foot roll is heavy and because of that is hard to hold as you pick it up and then it gets prone to snagging and getting tangles. Poultry net does work well at keep poultry in and predators out, but if you can afford it go with several shorter rolls. I wish they still made the 36" high rolls. Honestly, I try to avoid using my poultry net until I absolutely have to. Consider using ENet if you have larger birds instead. It is lighter, it has vertical supports, and it is cheaper.

I am a hobby farmer, and losing pet farm animals is a big deal to me. I watched the "How To" video for #207015. On the video the guy makes it look really simple...and I was convinced it would work for me. I was excited when I got it, and immediately unrolled it, and put it up. I did a terrific job, single-handedly... Trust me...it is worth every dime...Please get the style with the double support poles...well worth the extra few bucks. I gotta hand it to Premier1...perfect, perfect product and a fair price, AND technical SUPPORT, if you need it...

Was very pleased at how easy this system is to set up and use. I feel at ease letting our dog out without fearing for the safety of our small flock of hens. Our neighbors run a bird dog training center, and the wayward escapee was also a concern.
The only issue now is covering the area to protect the girls from hawks.
It would useful to include information to let consumers know the configuration gives an odd number of lengths between post, making it impossible to create a square or rectangular enclosure. But that is a minor issue.
Did need to use several steel t-post to anchor to to keep line from sagging, but you can still call me a happy customer!!
The only issue now is covering the area to protect the girls from hawks.
It would useful to include information to let consumers know the configuration gives an odd number of lengths between post, making it impossible to create a square or rectangular enclosure. But that is a minor issue.
Did need to use several steel t-post to anchor to to keep line from sagging, but you can still call me a happy customer!!

I now have eight rolls of poultry netting, and am quite pleased with the product. Everything Premier says about its pros/cons is right on the money, so anyone buying this product should know exactly what to expect. We have had problems with skunks getting under the netting to our birds, and may need to try an offset wire. Otherwise, most birds stay in (a few fly-overs), and most critters stay out. Great stuff!

Just got this fence a week ago, i do like it for easy set-up ! But i would like to see stiffer post even the gray post, they like to bend alot causeing it to sag bad gonna have to add a post in the middle of each section of fence, so if buy this buy 17-18 extra post with each 164ft. of fence, lol !

I wish I had ordered this fence earlier so that the fox would not have thinned my flock. Great product, easy to put up, works well. Ordered another roll to increase the area. We will use it in the winter to let the hens in the fallow garden.

I am loving the ease of use and effectiveness of this fencing -- we've got serious raccoons and coyotes at night, and they are not getting to our birds at all. My one complaint is that here on the Wet Coast the bottom lines short out a lot. We mowed the grass under the fence as short as one can do a pasture, and have braced the mesh as tightly as possible, but it sags between posts and lets the bottom lines touch the grass. Perhaps a different wire across the top line would help?

Was very easy to install. We have had it only a short period of time but we are confident that now that it is up it will do its job. We definitely would recommend it. Do stress though that a prospective customer purchase the corner posts (PowerPosts) that Premier also sells. It is much easier to install when the posts are used when turning a corner. Great product!

I couldn't afford to buy the fencing and energizer but decided to take a chance and get just the fence. It set up easily and with the aid of landscape staples, my chickens are contained. By the end of summer, I'll buy the energizer which will make it even better. I love it.

Easy to setup. The instructions for using an AC charger were confusing. Seems like it is biased towards using a 12 volt DC battery. Don't bother hooking up a cheap charger or one designed for poultry, as it will not put out enough energy to properly charge the fence.

We purchased the PoultryNet 12/48/3 (48” x 164’) and the Patriot PS15 Solar Energizer Kit, both which was delivered timely and in perfect condition. After struggling with connecting the cables to the Energizer, using gloves and pliers and a lot of force, the net went up without any problems. It is recommended though to put 2”x2” wooden tree stakes or fence posts as support in the corners or when changing direction from a straight line of the fence. It would not hurt if the built in stakes were much less flexible. The net has kept our small flock of rare breed chickens inside and the fox couple, which hunts all day and night, out. Our dog accidently tested the net, and he is now staying far away from it.

This is easy to use and appears to be effective. I expect to buy again. I admire the way the seller points out the things that people like about the product, as well as the things that some dislike about it. It's "drawbacks" are not really problems if you know what you're getting at the outset.

This is our second order of this fencing, which is used to help keep free-ranging chickens OUT of our garden. Needed more this year as the garden is much larger. Sometimes a few guineas do fly over the fence to go through the garden, but they are not the problem the chickens are, so that's okay, because this fence keeps out the chickens. Grass and weeds still grow into this mesh, but we are working on that.

It mostly works as advertised. I've had it up 2 weeks and have 5 of my 18 chickens enclosed. The other 5 get out at will. I think I'll clip wings and see if that helps. I've also been unable to get the net tight enough to keep it from popping every second where the bottom of the net between posts is dragging the ground. I think I need to get some fiberglass posts to keep those parts from touching the ground.

This is our 3rd poultry fencing order and the second time we have ordered this particular netting. We have been using Premier's poultry netting for about 4 years, and we really love it. We move the fences about every 2-3 weeks (we have 4 sections 165' long) for pasture rotation for our 130 hens. It takes about 20-30 minutes with 2 people. It has successfully kept our hens IN and everything else OUT. Thanks Premier!!!!
