This thing works great. I was worried whether it would be hard on their legs or cause injury, but it really doesn't seem to. We had a big "poultry round-up" to move some free range birds to a new location, and the hook arrived just in time and helped a lot.

I could not have purchased 1/4 inch steel rod to make on of these for this price, without a handle and this one is stainless with a stout plastic handle. It was delivered within a week of ordering and I'm go'na get one for my neighbor for a Christmas gift.

This exactly what I needed to catch them quick little boogers. It is a sturdy plastic handle and a nice thick rod, easy to wield and very easy to use. I've read there is a learning curve to get the hang of using it but I didn't have any trouble at all.
