Common Uses

Use for horses, corral sides and sheep/goat laneways.

Specs

  • 13/48/2, 100 ft roll
  • Verticals every 2 in. and horizontals every 4 in.
  • Made by Bekaert
  • Made of medium (not high) tensile steel wire.
  • Top and bottom wires are 10 gauge. Remaining wires are 12.5 gauge.
  • "S" joints are safe and secure.
  • Installs like other woven wires.

Benefits

  • BlackCote has superior rust resistance. How much better? Bekaert, the manufacturer, indicates that BlackCote is at least 25% better than Class III HT wire.
  • The BlackCote exterior is Bezinol® (a mixture of aluminum and zinc), which is then covered with an external coat of blackened polymer.
  • The attractive black color provides visibility year-round & excels against white (snow) and brown (dusty) backgrounds.
Installation

  1. Set the end/corner/curve brace assemblies.
  2. Stretch a GreenCote® barbed wire at soil level to use as a "straight-edge" for installing line posts.
  3. Power-drive or hand-set line posts. Attach barbed wire to posts.
  4. Unroll woven wire. Strain it from end post to end post with strainer clamps. Staple woven wire to the posts.
  5. Strain & attach 2 HT smooth wires above woven wire.
  6. Insulate, strain and attach offset wires.
  7. Connect all insulated wires to energizer or to cut-out switch.
  8. Connect all non-insulated wires (and the woven wire) to a ground rod.
