To fill, simply remove red lid and add water. Ideally, refill with a hose, because it's heavy to carry when filled to the top. Or, just add another smaller bucketful of water as needed.

Finally a waterer that does not leak!!! The float system works great and it does not spill out, even when the ground is not perfectly level. No more sloppy wet area around the waterer. We have 20 chickens and it lasts several days before needing a refil. Great Product.

This product is genius. The way the water gets from inside the bucket to the fill tray keeps it clean, unlike the usual hole leading directly into other gravity fed feeders.

So easy to fill and the water in the bucket stays sparkling clean. I check each day and sometimes tip out the drinking tray to remove debris that blows in. Since it fills back slowly, it gives me time to take a rag and run it around the rim if need be.

The white bucket also keeps the water cooler than my metal waterers or simple buckets.

I love it, but will miss it in the winter when I have to switch to my heated waterer.

Great waterer. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Easy to schlep. Can't believe the low price. Buy several. Only downside is that it is not sturdy enough to hang.

love it, love it, love it, as I have 30 chickens and only had a 1 gallon waterer, I am not wearing myself out refilling it constantly. Great price too. I paid this much for my 1 gallon waterer at the feed store. No poop on the lid either, thats the best part!

Very good price, very easy to fill, very easy to clean, easy to assemble-5 mins.. The negatives are: The handle isn't sturdy so you can't hang it and a lot of water is wasted by my ducks compared to a waterer with slots like the Hanging Waterer for $9.00 which I also have.

Great Water. Easy to fill and clean. Must be too slippery for the chicken to roost on as there is no poop on or in the water. Even if the chicken did roost on it the top is wide enough that droppings would not go it the water.

Terrible. Floats sticks all the time and the water drains out all over the floor. I do not trust this to provide water for the animals.
An atypical, so far, result. We need to know what is the cause of this. We will send a call tag for this as we want to examine it. We use this bucket with our chickens. It worked well until the control valve became loose (it screws into the bucket base on the inside) - at which point it leaked as Kevin indicated. Resetting the valve and screwing it tight fixed the problem. -- Premier

This is the best waterer I own. Fills easy, stays cleaner, and is easy to clean. No mold or other growth has formed in this waterer. I have others that seem to grow a red growth and smells bad, but his one always stays growth free.
