Common Uses

Use as a portable fence when camping or creating semi-permanent or temporary pastures. Can be used for cattle, llamas and will stop most deer.

Specs

  • 4 electrified horizontals
  • Horizontals are 4.5mm rope for better visibility. On regular net, the horizontals are 2.25 mm.
  • Horizontals are white and black
  • Horizontal spacings from bottom to top are: ground to the first horizontal= 12" then 12", 12", 12".
  • Verticals are a white plastic strut spaced 24" apart
  • Posts are .75" PVC with two metal spikes that go into the ground.
  • Post spikes are 7" long and .31" in diameter
  • Posts are spaced every 12.5'
  • 48" tall
  • Comes in 25', 50', 100' lengths.
  • 150 Ohms of electric resistance per 1000'.

Benefits

  • No tools or special skills needed to install.
  • Plastic verticals provide extra visibility and are also uniquely designed to break if an animal gets its head or leg entangled.
  • No extra gates needed. Just turn off the energizer and pull the first post to create an opening.

Cost

Price per foot $2.08 for 25' roll.
Price per foot $1.38 for 50' standard roll.
Price per foot $1.14 for 100' roll.

Installation

See PDF above for installation instructions.

Precautions

Extra posts will be needed at the ends and at 90 degree corners.

This is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose.

Trouble Shooting

If the voltage drops below 3000v on the net, you need to turn off the energizer and unhook the net from the energizer. Test just the energizer by itself. If the voltage is 5000v or higher on the energizer the problem is in the net. The most common problem is that the lowest 'hot' strand has been caught around one of the metal spikes on the posts and is shorting it out. The net must be at least 2" away from anything metal (metal posts, existing fences, spikes on support posts).

Warranty

With proper care, netting should last 5-7 years. Replacements will be prorated

For fences that are exposed to the "public."

Features HoriSmart's unique CPN circuitry.
Though new to the USA, they were introduced in Europe 2 years ago.
What do they offer that others do not? An increased margin of safety for fence exposed to young children, valuable animals or humans with medical conditions such as heart pacemakers.
How? Horizont's CPN circuit/system maintains high voltages through a wide range of situations--but (and this is the key difference) keeps output energy for 60 seconds at levels that allow time for humans and animals to move away from the fence.
Why is this important? The concern with most energizers (whatever the brand or source) has always been that, to make units powerful enough (in output joules) to cope with heavy, green weed contact meant that they also produced more joules of output power than necessary during times when green grass was not contacting the fence (e.g., spring, winter and autumn).
HoriSmart's CPN circuits are the first in the world to address this problem.
Batteries are sold separately.
