Solar Panel Kit for 20B and B4 Energizers

This is a SOLAR PANEL KIT ONLY for the 20B and B4 energizers.

KIT INCLUDES

  • 3-watt solar panel
  • 12v leads

Premier's IntelliShock 20B and HotShock B4 energizers convert easily to solar input. Both panel and battery can plug directly to the input pins of the energizer.

Solar panels can double the life of EzePower batteries or provide worry-free recharging of a sealed lead acid battery.

Benefits

How to Use

  1. Remove handle that comes with energizers.
  2. Slide on the new handle with the solar panel.
  3. Run wires (one on each side) through the slots on the sides of energizer (by the handle snap lock). Run one wire through each slot.
  4. Plug the leads from the solar panel into the inside of the energizer lid.
Precautions

Make sure to point solar panel toward the sun. Keep panel clean.
Trouble Shooting

  • Check all connections.
  • Test just the battery on the energizer.
  • Test with out battery just solar panel to narrow down the problem.
Warranty

Two year warranty on solar panels from Premier. Warranty covers the efficiency of the cells only and does not warrant the glass, frame or cells against breakage caused from weather or abuse. Premier's 30 day guarantee covers products that return undamaged and at original functioning level.

I just installed this panel with a 20B charger to keep bear and deer away from a small orchard and two hives of bees. As I would expect from Premier, its level of quality is high. IMprovement opportunities are: (1) provide a diagram that shows how to use this panel with the 20B and batteries, (2) show some other interesting options for how to use the panel or multiple panels since they seem pretty useful (like wiring to a cigarette lighter plug to make a trickle charger for a pick-up truck battery), (3)include a diagram that shows how the integrated handle clips onto the 20B energizer. This is probably obvious for customers who are really familiar with the 20B, but it took me a bit to figure it out. -EB

I added this solar panel to my 20B charger( an excellent fence charger also) along with a lead acid battery and it runs the charger from late spring to late fall with out any attention from me.
I would have given it a 5 rating but I think the method used to connect the panel to the battery via the slots in the battery box is not a well thought out design. An external set of jacks to connect the solar panel to the battery whould make it easier to service the battery.
