Each farm vehicle has a set or two of PowerLinks riding along with it because we find them so useful. They make for a quick fence connection and since we’re always moving netting around on the farms these have become an essential part of our grazing operation. They grip thicker conductors very well and are just easy to have on hand. For some folks the metal contact points don’t have enough teeth for smaller insulators (MaxiShock and IntelliTwine) but they work for us.

These are great if you need to disconnect the electrical current to your fence frequently. I only gave it a 3 due to two reasons. The first is that after 5 months, the little metal part on the inside tends to fall out. The other reason is that the cord is too long. I would prefer a much shorter cord (or no cord at all) as I end up having to wrap it around the posts to shorten it so that it doesn't accidentally get tangled up and pulled off.
I use this product to hook two fences together. I have not found a better alternative to the powerlink 4.0.

I agree with some of the other comments. These clips are not up to Premier standards! We have had many break...the power links and the ones coming from the suitcase chargers. I know you guys will fix this issue. This is the first quality issue we have ever had with any of Premier's stuff. But as of right now, they are way overpriced for the quality.

Just received these clips, which is the 3rd time we've ordered some, because we like them a lot. Much better than using the squeeze clamps.

I'm not sure which versions I have but I had troubles with the wire pulling off the clip. I now lift the spring and tuck the black wire under it and don't have trouble anymore.

So simple, but how have I managed without them?? A LOT of walking to turn the fence on/off, lots of wires going from here to there....
These are great - at a sensible price, as well.

I have some of the version 4 clips (I have earlier ones, too, but haven't had them long enough to notice any problems.).
All I can say is, I LOVE THESE CLIPS!! They are so convenient, and handy. I buy 3:1 geared reels from another company because Premier doesn't carry them (is anyone listening???), and they have similar clips for double the cost.
Great product!

These powerlinks are higher quality then the originals. Heavier plastic ends look like they will last longer in the sun. And the insulated wire seems heavier for constant use. I use these all summer long to connect high tensile lines and our net fences. For the price you can't beat these.

We've had the earlier versions of these and they just didn't hold up to regular use.
BUT We are extremely pleased with the latest version (I think version 4?).
The plastic is more rugged, has a better finger grip and the connection of the wire to the clip is a big improvement over the earlier version we have. So far so good! Good job Premier, keep up the good work with the great products! We really appreciate it!
We use alot of intelli-twine, rope, pigtail step ins and poultry fence on our multi-species grazing farm so these clips are in use daily and year round!

Compared the the previous version, these clips are crap. I had two of them break off in my hand today. One year in the sun and the plastic is so brittle the tips break off with the slightest pressure. - They are also shorter than the original energizers. Please bring back the originals.
Our PowerLinks have, as James indicated, evolved over the years. Version #1 was much more resistant to UV than #2. (We'll replace version 2 free of charge if you send them back to us). Version 2 & 3 had a shorter cord (we thought it was too long in Version 1!). Version #3 corrected the UV problem. Version 4 (due Apr. 2010) will have an option of 2 cord lengths (30 & 48 in), thicker insulation on the cord, a better "fit" for the fingers, and increased clip contact surface capability. -- Premier
