Galvanized HT Smooth Wire

A smooth wire HT fence is the lowest-cost permanent fence per year of useful life if installed correctly. It is simpler to install than woven wire. Supplied in "thread-lay" coils--even multiple rolls will dispense easily and consistently.

Common Uses	Used for boundary fences where animal pressure is moderate and predators are not an issue. Used for pasture subdivision for cattle, sheep, llamas and goats.

Outer coil diameter: 26.5" 12.5 gauge Supplied in 2000' or 4000' rolls Made in USA Class III galvanized coating 200,000 psi tensile strength Requires little maintenance. Does need a HT wire dispenser Requires serious end and corner posts with strong assemblies. Line posts can be spaced up to 40' IF terrain is flat.
Benefits	It is simpler to install than woven wire. Long lasting and less cost per foot per year of use. Strong--unlikely to be broken by falling branches or animals.
Installation	Set the end/corner/curve brace assemblies. Stretch a GreenCote smooth wire at soil level to use as a "straight-edge" for installing line posts. Power-drive or hand-set the line posts. Attach smooth wire to posts at desired height. Strain other strands of smooth wire from end post to end post with strainer for total number of strands desired. Note: If installing woven wire, it should be installed before the smooth wire is attached to the line posts.

Precautions	HT smooth wire is not visible to flighty animals- so deer, antelope and horses are not able to see it well. It will not contain sheep or goats on its own during weaning/breeding, even if electrified.
