E'Net™ 8/35/6 Electric Netting

A prefabricated fence that has 8 horizontal twines (7 conductive); is 35" tall installed, and has string verticals every 6".

White PVC posts are built into the mesh every 12.5 ft. The result, when energized properly, is a nearly impenetrable mesh to sheep, goats, coyotes and dogs.

The black and white colors provide 24/7 visibility to both humans and animals against light and dark backgrounds.

How does it compare to ElectroNet?

  • Has string verticals every 6" instead of plastic struts every 12". String is more prone to sagging but the closer vertical spacing is better for controlling foxes, lambs and goat kids.
  • Has 8 horizontal twines. (ElectroNet has 9 horizontal twines.)
  • Has 10 times more electrical resistance (380 Ω/1000 ft) so it's less suited for fences more than 1000 ft long. However, using wide-impedance energizers (IntelliShock®, Kube) can help compensate for this difference.
  • Not as easy to handle during removal and installation.

Precautions

This is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. It is best to have animals trained to electric fencing before you turn them out in the net only. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose.

Troubleshooting

If the voltage drops below 3000v on the net, you need to turn off the energizer and unhook the net from the energizer. Test just the energizer by itself. If the voltage is 5000v or higher on the energizer the problem is in the net. The most common problem is that the lowest 'hot' strand has been caught around one of the metal spikes on the posts and is shorting it out. The net must be at least 2" away from anything metal (metal posts, existing fences, spikes on support posts).

Warranty

With proper care, netting should last 5-7 years. Replacements will be prorated.

We live on a hillside farm and found that even with a lot of tension we could not keep it from sagging. We have had the electronet in the past, which works great. We did not quite understand the difference when we were buying in a rush. We are not at all happy with these fences.

I was disappointed with the quality of this net fencing. I didn't realize that the verticals would be so lightweight. Not enough to support, causing sagging between poles.

I bought the 201012 35x82 single spike. I don't electrify it. I live in the city with a typical tiny lawn in the front yard. I set it up and take it down daily for dog agility practice. The size is perfect and it's very easy to put up and take down and store back in its shipping box. My 16" tall dogs haven't attempted to jump it.

We just got 10 rolls of this fencing and,low and behold, we had an instant need for an extra quick paddock! But what a horrible dissapointment, it sags both in the middle and on the ground(watch out for intagglement!)I did not get free shipping as I am in Canada in fact it cost me almost 300$ I will call tomorrow to see what Premier can do for me. I think that I'll probably try and fix it on some t-bar posts ot other step in posts( cost 3$ and are way more sturdy) and use the netting. I would try the extra posts if putting it up again, or cords to pull it such as is done with tents or sun gazebos. I have a roll of poultry nettingfrom my local Co-Op I'll check out if that is better and post an update.
Your experience matches those of others with string verticals-that it requires more tension than the more expensive nets (e.g. ElectroNet) with large plastic verticals unless more end-to-end tension is applied. -- Premier

I bought this to allow my two mini donkeys to graze on areas of our lawn - I have a friend who uses this for her sheep. I was amazed at how incredibly well made this fencing is. The 35" height was plenty to convince the donkeys they were fenced in - they respect it and are very very grateful to get a shot at all that thick lush lawn they have been eyeing for a year! The incredible thing is that i never intended to use it with electricity and in fact it works just fine without any shock element: the donkeys touch it but make no attempt to push it over. But my dogs don't respect it very well!! and one jumps up and over and another puts his paw on it but the fence withstands that. I could easily gather up the whole roll by myself (a 5'6" middle aged woman) and reinstall it in a different area. As long as you follow the easy instructions for handling you'll be fine. But don't think you can outsmart the pick up and lay down directions or you'll have a tangled mess! Wonderful product, very fair price and no shipping fee as a blessing. Might get another roll to increase the area they can enjoy.

The fence sags in the middle of each post and the bottom hot wire is therefore on the ground, making for a weak shock

The E'net was very easy to set up and with a few step in posts, makes for a good semi permenant pasture for our sheep. What is nice is the ability to move the fencing around to keep weed growth down. The sheep took to the fence easily with only one "chomp...ZAP" from our youngest sheep. He knows to keep back now.

This may be one of the best inventions EVER. I am a small woman and have strength issues with my arms and hands. However, I am easily able to install my E'Net by myself! And, when it needs moving, I can do that, too. I also ordered the E'Net for chickens - can't wait to set it up, too!

The netting was easy for me (a woman) to handle and allowed me to change sheep grazing paddocks daily. By the end of the summer I could see definite improvement in the quality of forage using the rotational grazing. The sheep adapted easily to the netting.
