PoultryNet™ Plus 12/48/3 Electric Netting

New! PoultryNet Plus has posts every 6.8 ft (vs. 10 ft for standard PoultryNet). More posts means less sag and a more versatile fence.

It's an 48 in. electrifiable prefabricated fence. It arrives at your door as a complete roll with the posts already built into the mesh/fence.

White vertical plastic strings are "welded" to black and white electro-plastic horizontal strings. They are supported by .6 inch diameter white plastic PVC posts--which are spaced throughout the netting. Each post has a small, steel spike that is to be inserted into the ground for support.

Just attach a fence energizer and it's ready to keep poultry in and their predators out. One roll (100 ft) weighs only 23 lbs.

Precautions

Note: Not effective with baby chicks that are small enough to crawl through the net openings and therefore are not deterred by the electric shock.

This is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier. If animals are scared or starved it will not keep them in. The first time you put the animals in the net, you should be available to watch them for a while. That way if one were to get into the fence and get caught, you can turn the power off and get them loose.

This net will need extra supports posts. Use them at the corners and ends for sure. Extra posts may be needed elsewhere as well.

Dry conditions and wintertime usages—may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing.

Dry or frozen ground many cause the NetPost spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed.

Troubleshooting

If the voltage drops below 3000v on the net, you need to turn off the energizer and unhook the net from the energizer. Test just the energizer by itself. If the voltage is 5000v or higher on the energizer the problem is in the net. The most common problem is that the lowest 'hot' strand has been caught around one of the metal spikes on the posts and is shorting it out. The net must be at least 2" away from anything metal (metal posts, existing fences, spikes on support posts).

On PoultryNets, the bottom hot wire can slip off of the plastic portion of the end posts down onto the metal spikes. This will cause a dead short and no energy will be on the fence. Unhook the energizer and slide the hot wire back onto the post. Hook energizer back to the net and test.

Warranty

With proper care, netting should last 5-7 years. Replacements will be prorated.

This works great. Easy to set up, take down, and move. I like the green color that blends in with the field. I also have the white and it stands out much more. Had it for several months, and no predator losses, and I've seen coyotes, coons, foxes, and opossums on the property since it has been in use.

Excellently packaged and shipped and the included instructions were very helpful. So far has kept the coyotes and foxes out of the chickens. Last night one of the posts got knocked out of the ground, but whatever it was did not get inside! Easy to handle and not too heavy.

This fencing is very high quality and easy to use. I have used both the green and the white poltrynet plus double spike 12/48/3 in the 100 ft roll. It has kept the dogs and coyotes out, and the chickens in. Now if it just would throw a force field for the hawks...

This fencing is fantastic. I move by small flock of chickens around my yard, so the mobility of this fence is perfect. It is a little tricky at first to get it set up without sag if you're putting it in any design other than a straight line - but once you get the hang of it, you can move it very quickly. I would highly recommend this product!!

We Installed 400 feet of Poultry netting plus very easily! Maybe overkill for our operation but well worth the investment in my book. One issue is that the very bottom electrified strand end loop on the post can slip down and ground itself out on the metal feet of the post. After that it’s a winner!

Very easy to work with since there is not a lot of fencing between each post. Easy to put in stakes/take them out but they are well anchored in the ground. My auracanas, australorps, and orpingtons (4 months old) fly over quite easily but this has more to do with the birds and where I put them rather than a deficiency of the fence.

The fence was easy to install. I bought it for my Swedish Flower Hens. It arrived quickly, just before the strawberry patch awoke from its winter slumber and my seedlings needed to be moved to the garden. I must admit that while I love for my chickens to free range, I am more relaxed mow that they'ree fenced in and not wandering too close to the road. The "girls" are content, as well, with plenty of room in their yard!

Love the fence, easy to move, light weight an so very glad I got double spike. Wind can get really back and worried about fence but extra tent spikes in corners help.

The PoultryNet fence was purchased to establish Bachelor Quarters for the excess roosters as they grew to broiler size. I am very pleased with the fence, but even more pleased with the phone assistance that was provided even though it was known that I would be making the purchase online. The fact that I was a newbie to raising chickens encouraged the phone tech to suggest the Battery Energizer Kit which was a lifesaver since I understand precious little about electricity.

The only "improvement" I would suggest is to explain the little metal clips and how to handle them to other newbies. You would not believe how much time I spent puzzling over the fact that I could not begin to unroll the fence since that clip was in the way :)

This makes a nice safe 'yard' for my hens outside their coop when they are not free ranging. It's small enough to handle alone and was fairly simple to set up with the right equipment. The hens can fly over it, but once they found they couldn't return, they decided not to venture out much. I was very appreciative of the help and service provided by Premier. Thank you.

I had the standard netting, 168', with solar battery, protecting chickens. However, I had two problems: hard for one woman to hold all that fence when moving, and crows had figured out how to get my eggs and had a field day. Finally discovered to put bird netting on top of the fence poles which kept crows out, but it was messy, and the poles fell over with time, etc. Finally have settled on this solution: with the 50'of fencing, it's very easy to move, and very easy to keep bird netting over (I cut a piece so it fits the 7x21' square with a foot overlap all around, and lined edges with duct tape so it's easy to handle). It's less space, but hens never seemed to use all that space in the 168' anyways. I have 3 hens and need to move fairly often to keep grass from getting killed (about weekly), but it's so easy to move--keep grounding rod in place and just rotate around. These poles are nice and sturdy. So thanks Premier for great product!

I recently purchased 100' of the PoultryNet Plus with poles every 6.8' vs. 10 feet for the standard poultry net. Big improvement - with this netting it is much easier to keep the lowest charged line off the ground and therefore more charge on the net. I have also found that 100' is much easier to move by myself than 164'. Will definitely be using this netting for my chickens going forward. Also advise anyone using the PoultryNet to get a more powerful fence energizer - at least 2 joules because so much of the charge is lost through ground contact compared to standard electric fencing for cows, horses, etc.

This fencing is far superior to the standard poultry netting I already own. The posts are much sturdier and no auxiliary support is needed. Thanks, Premier, for another great product!
