I really like this product. The only thing I would like better, is if the legs were a little taller, since I use deep bedding. I solved the problem by placing bricks under it, in the center. It works perfectly that way and the chicks cannot perch on the bricks, since they are way underneath, and stay relatively clean.

Sadly, though I wanted this to be the answer to my dirty waterer problems, it was not. I found pretty much the same amount of shavings in the water, and then the added problem of droppings encrusted on the stand. I've gone back to putting it on a large, stainless steel, inverted dog dish. That works better, at least for me.

Finally, I've found something that works to elevate food and water in the brooder pens, and is short enough for chicks to hop up on, and is easy to disinfect. I've been using all sorts of makeshift items for this purpose, with much less satifactory results. It's great for all of my poultry babies -- chicks, ducklings, and poults -- once they're well-started. It's sturdy, and I think it will last for a while. I'll be buying several more.

Is a lot bigger than expected. I am worried the chicks will not be able to get up on the stand because it is so high. Seems a little cheaply made
