  • “Never-loose” base (See pdf file above for a side-by-side comparison.)
  • Guaranteed to provide 6 months of non-stop life

Conventional infrared lamps are cheap—but they usually fail within a month or two. Why?
1. The base breaks away from the glass bulb because the high temperature causes the cheap adhesive to degrade.
2. Both glass and filament are so fragile that minimal impact shatters them.
InterHeat bulbs address both issues. They initially cost more to buy but they are cheaper over time because they last years instead a few weeks.

Tip

To help reduce pecking with your birds, use a red colored bulb.

Benefits

Never-Loose Bases—they don’t use cement adhesive. Instead, the base screws into the bulb. A weld of solder holds the base onto the threads.

Other bulbs—attached with cement adhesive. Heat causes the cement to lose its adhesive property. The base then breaks away from the bulb.

Precautions

Please see CAUTION photo under "See More Images" above. Never lay a heat lamp (of any make or manufacture) on straw or any other flammable surface—for any length of time. Why do we show you this? Because we included this photo on p. 60 of our 2012 “Equipment That Works!” catalog and p. 16 on our Poultry flyer—and we regret doing so. To prevent any incident (there has been none to our knowledge) we felt we should show you this as a cautionary note.

Do not use bulbs rated higher that 250w. Use quality bulbs as some low quality bulbs have broken off leaving the metal filament in the ceramic fixture.

Please read this note regarding purchase of items #557034 or #557035.

A customer has reported problems screwing PAR (pressed glass) heat lamp bulbs into our orange heat lamp fixtures—so we’ve studied this in detail.

We have concluded that, because the PAR bulbs feel so sturdy and unbreakable in the hand (which they are), some users (including myself) are inclined to screw them in with more hand strength than they use for normal heat lamp bulbs (which are fragile and feel that way).

Using too much strength to tighten the bulbs doesn’t damage the bulbs—but it does deform the brass colored metal inside the ceramic fixtures of our heat lamps.

Mild deformation due to over tightening makes it difficult to screw bulbs in and out of the fixture. Major deformation due to over tightening can flatten the metal so much that the bulb can actually fall out.

After using for 1 week this lamp works as expected. Maintains steady output and doesn't fluctuate.

They are worth the extra initial cost. Every time I get to thinking "too pricey" and go for the thin glue types, I always regret it and go back to these.

We have used these bulbs for lambing jugs, warming baby chicks and as a backup heat source on cold nights for the chicken water when the heated base can't keep the top from freezing. The bulb does not break at the base after a few weeks of use like the cheap farm supply stores do and therefore last much longer especially when bumped, also they don't shatter like the thin bulbs do.

Good solid light. I don't feel like I have to hold it like a porcelain egg like I felt with the thin glassed bulbs. And, I have not, so far, had one burn out. Great bulb.

Work great for the day old chicks. These feel much better built and secure than the other ones i have used. I think I will only buy from Premier in the future. Their products are above and beyond great quality.

Purchased four of the red pressed glass 175 watt heat bulbs for my small chicken coop. They arrived promptly, and just in time, as the glass store bought red heat bulbs burnt out! My chickens are spoiled, I run the heat lamps every night when the weather gets to 40 degrees or below. I will definitely purchase these again from Premier1.

So far we are happy with these lamps, but we haven't had them long enough just yet to know that they will hold up as they have said they will.

These bulbs are great. Not the super high wattage 250, which are overkill and more expensive to run. Only been using them for two weeks for chicks in brooder, but flawless so far!

Thus far great. Been using these in our chicken coop to keep the waterer frost-free and the eggs unfrozen. Works great and I think it'll last for a lot longer than the common bulbs that I have to replace every season when the bulb falls away in my hand.

By far the most robust bulb I seen in awhile. You have to be careful not to over torque them into the base because they seem so strong (and heavy) that you want to crank them down tight. But really, a great product.

I spent the extra money on these supposedly better lamp bulbs hoping for safety in several areas as advertised. During the third night I used them to transition two motherless kids from my house to the barn the first bulb burned out. I expect Premier will replace them as a couple other people have mentioned, and fortunately my kids were OK, but the failure of this product endangered my vulnerable animals. I am not happy and not sure whether to trust them again.

Purchased two boxes of 2 each pressed glass bulbs. Immediately tried them out to be sure they lit up and all did so. Put them in safe place for later use. We have raised chicks for 5 years and have experienced the loose glue problem. This bulb has a solder location in a dent in the glass to prevent rotation. Prompt shipment.

I had bought 2 red heat lamp bulbs from TSC as the temps were getting into the low digits. About 2 seconds after turning them on, one broke off at the base and started smoking. I then immediately ordered the ones from Premier. They came within within 3 days. They are great! The cemented bases give me peace of mind from fire and they should last me this year and next.
