How to Use
Set the waterer so the nipples are just above head height—the birds should stretch up slightly to drink.
Handle is used to carry the bucket (unplugged) to and from a hydrant for filling. Some may find the bucket handle fits too loosely underneath the lid. For a better fit, gently squeeze the top of the bucket inward while attaching the lid. The lid will snap into place over the handle.
Chickens will take to the nipple drinkers more readily when there is no other water source available. We recommend removing your current waterer and placing the new waterer in the same location. Then, bring a bird’s beak directly to the nipple drinker and flick/activate the nipple to demonstrate the new water source.

The waterer is well made. However, my chickens simply won't drink from it despite the fact that I have repeatedly taken them to the spigots to train them per the directions. Perhaps I have slower than average chickens, but after a week, I plan to return it.

It is of very good quality, possibly a bit overpriced. MY concern is my chickens knock it off the bucket it rests on, then the floor is wet and they peck the Styrofoam on the inside of the top. Have improvised some but haven't found a clever way to keep it stable. any suggestions?? Maybe my chickens are just too friskie

After removing all water sources, I was able to get the flock to use the heated waterer. It is not their favorite based on ease of use but they do use it. I have it in the coop. Works like a charm. We fashioned a hanging handle on it so that it would not take up space in the coop. Future models of this ought to have a handle on the outside for hanging rather than inside the lid.

Hopefully this waterer will work well. Our chickens will be able to get a drink all winter long!!

This is a great product. The top does snap on, but I can see where some people can see it being “flimsy” I wish that there was a larger chicken heated waterer offered, with more nipples. I showed my chickens how to do this, the other chickens watched out of curiousness and they caught on very quickly.
