Save $$ by grinding your own feed—fresh. Both grinders below
are made by European leader in equipment for small flocks.
Similar units from other sources are over $1000.
How do they compare with each other?
Features in common
• Design of hopper intentionally prevents large items (hands,
fingers, screwdrivers) from accidently sliding into the
grinder blades—even though grain flows easily through it.
Eliminates risk of damage to both operator and machine.
• If the screws securing the cover to the blades are removed
the motor will stop (and won’t start until they’re in place).
• Limited assembly required (to attach legs).
Differences
• Motor size–
and therefore power, grain throughput and
energy consumption.
> Bravo is 1.2 hp.
> Ercolino is 2 hp.
• Voltage input
> Bravo is 110–120 volts.
> Ercolino is 220 volts.
• Sieves–
included for each
(see photos at right)
:
> Bravo has 3, from 4mm (0.16") to 8mm (0.33").
A 1mm sieve (.03") is available separately.
> Ercolino has 4, from 2.5mm (0.1") to 8mm (0.33").
• Fineness and quickness of the grind
(see photos above)
.
Though both the Ercolino and Bravo grinders use a
hammermill system,
the Ercolino, due to its higher horse
power, processes feed much faster.
> While it takes longer for the Bravo to grind the same
amount of feed (through similar sieves) as the Ercolino,
the Bravo with the 1mm sieve produces a very fine grind,
sufficient as a coarse flour.
> Ercolino has the ability to intake ear corn and produce a
cob meal with the 8mm sieve. Smaller sieves would have
increased processing time for corn cobs.
• The Bravo does not have a front spout
to allow grinding other
materials (e.g. corn cobs, hay, etc.). The Ercolino does.

Customer Review…
I love this machine! We live on a
small farm and I make 20–100 pounds
of feed a day for my pigs and chickens.
So far this hammermill hasn’t missed
a beat. Wished I had found Premier’s
website sooner. Thanks!
