Tri-Pod Waterer, 8 gal
Large-volume waterer for those who tire of frequently refilling small waterers.
To keep the water clean, it has 3 legs that elevate the waterer off the ground or bedding.
Instructions/Diagrams:
Specs
- Capacity: 8 gallon
- Suited for: adults
- Height: 22"
- Number of birds: 100
- Waterfowl: yes
- Base sits 5.5" above the ground
Note: The exact number of birds to water is difficult to determine as there are many factors that influence intake; salt and protein levels in the diet, humidity, temperature, productivity (growth or egg production) and the birds ability to process feed and water.
How to Use
- Fill from top with a hose.
- Make sure valve is closed when filling.
- Once full, screw the cap back on and open the valve to enable the water to flow. Water will stop on its own due to vacuum seal.
- Water fill level is high so be sure to set it on flat ground to avoid spillage.

We've been using this for about a week & so far, so good.
I didn't have any trouble regulating the water flow, as some have complained of, only needing to adjust it a couple of times immediately upon set-up.
I will say this, though - the legs on this are really lacking. They do not attach to the unit but rather, they depend on the weight of the water to keep them in place. I'm thinking about using Gorilla Glue to attach them, haven't decided yet.
As stated in directions & other reviews, you must have the unit level for it to function correctly. Common sense, really, and easily accomplished. We just eyeballed it, no problems.
I do flush it every so often to rid it of grit & debris that finds it's way in, which is to be expected.
Overall, a handy product that keeps the hens' water clear of poop.

Love this waterer! Easy to fill! Best one I've tried!

Works great! Water tray at height stays cleaner longer. Less frequent fill intervals with large tank. Simple to fill. We love it!!!

I raise small batches (150 - 250) of broilers in the coop in winter and outside in summer. I have used double-wall, galvanized waterers for over 30 years and they never last very long. Found these and thought I'd give them a try; bought two on a test basis. They worked better than anticipated. I have read all the reviews here and wonder about valve problems because I have experienced none. They have worked so well, I ordered two more.

The first 2 days, my ducks drained all 8 gallons of water by playing in it. No biggie, I'm use to my ducks playing in their water. On day 3 it was still almost full. I really like the design. Top filling is SO much easier then the fill and flip ones I had. I am extremely happy with this waterer.
