FANTASTIC!!!! The water stays clean. I don't have to give them water everyday. I have three chickens and the water lasts for at least 4 days. But I only fill it 1/3 of the way. Just so they get fresh water every so many days. But, I know if I go out of town, they will have plenty of water.

I ordered this waterer as I thought it would FINALLY solve the problem of dirty water siphoning back into the tank on previous waters I have tried. Other than going to pvc pipe and nipple drinkers how can I have constant clean water for the poultry? I still do not understand how the dirty water in the bowl can travel UP into the tank on this model. I have ducks that quickly dirty any waterer. What a disappointment to find the water in the tank just as dirty as the water in the bowl!! No one else mentioned this problem. The second problem is as others have stated, the top opening is too small. How are you supposed to scrub the tank out???? And I agree that it must be level or water will continue to run out over the bowl. The bottom valve even when in the "closed" position still lets water through, making filling in a coop a mess. And yes, water weighs 8# per gallon so it is very cumbersome to carry.
That said I like that it is off the ground but this does not prevent chickens from kicking bedding into the bowl. I like that it holds 8 gallons. It needs some design work to function better for the human, birds seem to use it without a problem.
I must say that everything else I have ordered from Premier is outstanding, their shipping and packing are superior too.

Great idea, but like several other have said, the valve leaks when filling and it's impossible to clean the inside of the tank well. I love Premier, they have wonderful customer service and I have been very satisfied with their products overall--- but this product is a miss. We switched to the 8-gallon galvanized waterers, and overall they are much easier to clean, fill, and you can put them on heated bases in the winter to prevent freezing.

Great waterer. I bought 2 of these in April 2012 and 2 in August 2012 since I doubled the amount of chickens I had. They work great. You need to be sure you place them on level ground. I need to water less frequently since they hold 8 gallons. Filling from the top is so easy and cleaner then anything I have tried.Have been using these for 5 months and am very satisfied. Would highly recommend.

I bought this waterer thinking it was the greatest one I had ever seen. However, I have now been using it a few months, hoping it will get easier to use, but it's just so much more work to fill than other ones. The valve at the bottom does not close so the second you unscrew the top lid and start filling, water pours into the bowl and overflows..all over the floor! I have to actually remove the bottom valve and have one of my children plug the holes while I fill it! What a pain! Also, the top opening is way too small..as others have stated, you can't get your hand inside to even clean it. I absolutely love all of the products I have purchased from Premier, however I am left utterly disappointed in this one. I paid dearly to have it shipped to Canada and feel like I just threw a LOT of my money away. Premier...please redesign this item.
