Comparing poultry net options
Do I choose 42" or 48" net?
While both heights will contain
most non-flying adult poultry, 48"
net is more secure against coyotes
and dogs.
42" net is lighter and easier
to handle when installing and
removing. It’s also less expensive.
How does PoultryNet
differ from PermaNet?
The mesh portion of PermaNet is
exactly the same. But it has much
stronger and larger posts—each
with longer, larger steel ground
spikes. This enables it to resist
sagging and withstand the effects
of wind, rain, ice and snow
(see
above)
much better than normal
netting. It’s a “less worries”
netting option.
But it’s also less easy to install
and remove. The net is heavier
and thus more cumbersome. The
ground spikes of the posts are
large and longer—so they are more
difficult to push into the soil…and
likewise to extract from the soil.

PoultryNet Plus
Some customers
complained PoultryNet
works great but it sags
between posts. So we
added posts to shorten the
distance between the posts
(6.8 ft compared to 10-12
ft. See comparison photo at
right).
So it’s now much less
prone to sagging.
PoultryNet Plus uses the
same netting as PoultryNet.
Available in 42" and 48"
heights
(see pp. 34, 36)
