Netting…easy to install &move!
32 ELECTRIC NETTING

Netting is easy to use—if you
follow the instructions
included
with each net
.
If you don’t you’ll
probably wonder why everyone
else is so pleased with it.
It needs less tension than other
types of fences—which means
only small, light posts to carry
(they’re built into the net) that
are not difficult to push or step
into the soil.
Site preparation
• Carry roll(s) of netting to the
proposed fence line.
• Prepare line by mowing all
vegetation over 4" tall.
If mowing isn’t practical, use a
vehicle to make a track.
Then install fence in the
mown strip or track.
• For longer fences, we put rolls
into the back of a vehicle and
toss each roll out as we drive
along the intended fence line.
Two common errors...
• Not energizing netting.
This
“shortcut” guarantees failure.
It’s also the most common
cause of animal entanglement
in netting.
• Rolling it up like a roll of
carpet
instead of first folding
it up by the posts
(see #5 at
above right).
Unroll the net by gripping all the posts as a
group and lift them up in front of you. Unfold
by walking backwards “feeding out” each post
on the ground.
Warning:
In 1991 a fatality occurred
when a young child’s head contacted an
electrified fence while crawling on wet
grass. The fence was correctly installed
and functioning properly. The energizer
was a UL approved unit.
As a result, Premier strongly cautions
to keep young children away from all
electrified fences. Due to this incident
and others, experts worldwide now
suggest that human contact by an
energized wire to the head and neck is
the most dangerous point of contact.
We especially urge all to absolutely
avoid this form of contact.
