Blue Leg Aluminum Crook
Specifically used for "grabbing" sheep and goats by a leg or newborn lambs/kids by the body. Depth of the hook reduces the chance of escape.
A goat's agility, slim neck and lack of wool mean that neck crooks are often useless. Leg crooks are best for goats because goats prefer to face you—so if you wish to catch them in a pen, it works best to do so by snagging a front foot.

Worked extremely well to snag both large and small goats in small round catch pen. As long as the animal moves forward works on necks large or small.
But the shaft got bent by a 40lb weaning goat, number 17 of 60 some-odd in for worming. Repeated trips to vice to bend it back straight slowed job down but overall somewhat better than nothing. REALLY liked it till it bent so easily.

I purchased one of these many years ago. That one had a much better hand grip and they used a stronger, better tempered aluminum. This one bends much easier and the leg hook spreads open and allows the leg to slip through. I kept it since I needed something to catch lambs and even this is better than nothing.

Well made and worth the purchase price.

Works great!

Very well constructed crook. I use mine for hurting docs and it works brilliantly. The creek fits around their neck just right and the length is perfect for hurting them into a pond.
