Deer QuikFence™ 5/60/12

The most reliable temporary deer fence available. A prefabricated fence that has 5 horizontal conductive twines; is 60 in. tall installed, and has large white plastic vertical struts every 12 in. White PVC posts are built into the mesh every 12.5'.

The black and white colors provide 24/7 visibility to both humans and animals against light and dark backgrounds.

Common Uses

A reliable semi-permanent or temporary deer fence. Used to protect gardens, orchards and wind breaks from deer.
Specs

  • 5 electrified horizontals
  • Horizontals are white and black
  • Horizontal spacings from bottom to top are: 12", 12", 12", 12"
  • Verticals are a white plastic strut spaced 12" apart
  • Posts are 0.75" PVC with two metal spikes that go into the ground.
  • Post spikes are 7" long and 0.31" in diameter
  • Posts are spaced every 12.5'
  • 60" tall
  • Comes in 25', 50', 100' lengths.
  • 88 Ohms of electric resistance per 1000'

Precautions

This is a pain barrier, not a physical barrier.

Dry conditions and wintertime usages—may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing.

Dry or frozen ground many cause the NetPost spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed.
Trouble shooting

If the voltage drops below 3000v on the net, you need to turn off the energizer and unhook the net from the energizer. Test just the energizer by itself. If the voltage is 5000v or higher on the energizer the problem is in the net. The net must be at least 2" away from anything metal (metal posts, existing fences, spikes on support posts).
Warranty

With proper care, netting should last 5-7 years. Replacements will be prorated.

This is a fence that can easily be incorporated into a 3-D Anti-Deer Fence or Stand alone. It is a very visible fence that both deer and humans can see. We recommend using apple-scent with our scent caps to ensure the local deer become acquainted with your fence.

We have a lot of deer in our area, and needed something to keep the deer out of our garden. The fence was easy to install and appears to be very durable. Although we don't have crops in yet, and the fence isn't energized presently, the spacing between strands (both vertical and horizontal) will entice deer into going under or through rather than over, which should do the trick once the fence is energized.

Deer QuikFence has worked perfectly in keeping the deer out of our 1/3 acre garden. It goes up easily and since the bottom strands are one foot off the ground it works well with our perimeter living mulch of white dutch clover. I highly recommend this product to others.

After installing many different versions of deer fences I think I finally found the solution: Deer QuickFence. Putting it up was no problem for my Wife and me (both over 80). We used it with a PS15 solar energizer kit. I highly recommend it.
