clipper blades

My question pertains to the difference in the Superia Blades CR15 & the CR30. I am clipping dogs with hair that is similar to a Beagles, but they have a very fine undercoat. Which blade is more suited for this, if either? I am very unfamilar with this subject and have had a terrible time trying to find a blade that will cut their fur. thank you

Hi

The difference between those blades is how close to the skin you will cut. The CR30 cuts very close - almost surgical. This would allow for sunburn etc. so it would be very unusual to use this on a dog for reasons other than surgery prep or critical matting.

For instance, I have Giant Schnauzers and use a "10" blade on the close parts (head, ears, chest, inbetween toes) and a "4" blade on the body, which leaves enough hair for sun/brush etc. protection.
