We are trying to decide which would work best for sheep 4-H? How many sheep does the blades do before needing sharpened?

Thanks

Either of the clippers (3000c & 4000c) will do the same job. The 3000C runs slower thus the 4000C may do job slightly faster because of it's faster blade speed. The quality of the job is dependant on the blades which are the same for either machine. Fine or surgical blades are most commonly used for slick shearing club lambs.
The amount/number of animals that can be clipped on one sharpening will vary from 1 head to 40 head. Some of the factors include blade lubrication, type of lubrication used, how clean the animals are, how long the fiber is, and how long it takes to clip the animals. Long dirty fleeces, without lubrication, and taking a long period of time to do may not get one animal clipped on a set of blades.
The keys to long blade life correct and timely lubrication of blades, clipping short clean fiber. These two keys will allow an animal to be clipped fairly quickly.

Thanks
Scott
