Sheep Shears

I am interested in sheep shears for shaving my dog. I bought dog clippers ( Andis brand) but they would not go through his thick hair. Would sheep shears work? He is a Great Pyrnees with a thick under coat. We live in FLA. and his coat is too much for him.

You would probably be less likely to cut his skin if you used the Premier 3000c clippers. The Coarse blade would cut through his thick undercoat without any trouble but this will leave his hair fairly close so you will want to keep that in mind as to the time of year you decide to clip him.
