Need to dog fence a horse pasture

I am going to cross-post this question to both boards.

We have adopted a young dog that needs plenty of exercise. I would like that to include a safe place for him to play under supervision. As we live on 7 acres that is fenced into 3 pastures for our horses, it seems to me the most practical solution is to add some sort of fencing material to one of the pastures. Our pastures are currently fenced with poly-coated high tensile wires and a hot wire at the top. Thus, I have easy access to making the new fencing hot. The height of our current fencing is roughly 5 feet.

I would like a recommendation for the fencing product to use in this application. PermaNet? TensionNet? Something else?

Thank -you!

Do you want the fence to be hot and shock the dogs or just a barrier to hold
them in.

John,

Please consider Green-Cote (R) or Gold-Cote (R) or perhaps a no-climb woven high tensile for this project. Simply strip the current bottom HT strands below 35 inches or less; or, depending on how many existing wires are involved, remove them to the opposite side of the inline posts in an insulated fashion. Keep the top wire energized

Makes for a durable canine proof solution in many cases.

Good luck. Be safe. Sincerely,
