I've used raddle marker for years, on the "right" ram. It needs to be re-applied to the ram every few days (depending on how many he has bred, and the air temp), so if the ram can be caught I'd use raddle marker. I've trained my rams to come to a small bucket of grain, and as long as he isn't too interested in a ewe I can usually catch him. But you also have to be careful being in an area with a breeding ram....i've had one chase me away from his girls. I change colors every 17 days (about) to check and see how many ewes the ram re-breeds. If he is re-breeding a lot, you may have an infertile ram. I hope this helps, gail
