clippers noisy

I have a set of clippers that i shear my show lambs with. I have replaced the plastic guide that drives the top blade. The clippers are still twice as loud as any other brand. If you take the blades of and run the motor alone it is fine. But as soon as you put the blades back on and adjust them to one and a half turns of tension they get noisy again. What can be done to fix this. It is really a problem when getting close to the heads.

Thanks

Hi Kelly,
Take the blades off and look at the groove where the top blade runs back and forth.
It sounds like you may have one or both of the stainless steel guides knocked out.
If this happens the blades will move too much when going back and forth making a slapping sound. Just let me know what you find and I will try to help you.

Gordon
