Hello

Some time ago, I bought a Sweet Chestnut Wooden Crook. It is the best investment I could have made. I do have a couple of questions though. Firs, the finish has worn off of it, in some spots, What is the best thing to oil it with? I have been using olive oil, because that is all I have around, but it gets sticky. What would you recommend? the second thing is, that I have worn the brass cap off the end of it. How would I go about replacing it? It Love that crook, it's the greatest.

I belive that the crooks have a varnish finish on them. This would protect the wood and not be sticky.

As for the brass cap on the end, you might try a rubber or plastic cap that fits on the bottom of a chair leg.
