ewe feed

I have two lincoln ewes, a yearling and a lamb, that I am currently feeding 16% protein pellets. However lately, the more I read, I come to find out that I should only be giving my ewes hay. They are both pulling on weight rapidly. I don't plan on breeding them and I can't find any books that address what i should give my girls. If anyone knows what i should give them please let me know. Thanks

If you do not plan on breeding them they will only need good quality grass
hay to stay in shape.Save your pellets for treats when you want them to come
to you or when you move them.
