I have been shearing my own flock of sheep for about two years now ( I have had sheep for about 7 years). I bought a pair of Oster Shearmasters and have been disappointed from the start. I have been shearing sheep for other people and I find I can not rely on these shears and always have to bring a spare set (borrowed from my friend) because they just cant seem to handle the job. A lot of the sheep ( anywhere from 2 to 10 animals at a time) I shear are backyard rough and tumble critters who's fleeces are overgrown and full of hatching and/or mats and my shears struggle to get through these fleeces. My shears also get painfully hot and are very slow in getting the job done. So basically I am ready to sell the shears I have now and get something more reliable that will serve me well. What do you recommend?
