Connecting Patriot P5 to Poultry Net

I have a Patriot P5 unit for my 12/48/3 - DS poultry net. I have the ground (black) terminal attached to the ground rod sent with the P5 unit. The hot (red) terminal is connected to the neting clip. The P5 is working I have voltage at the clip and the light is flashing. But when I try the tester on the net I get nothing. When I touch the net I get nothing. Have I hooked this up wrong or do I have a shot in the net or what?

I have the same situation with the PS15 Solar charger. I will call on Monday but maybe someone has some troubleshooting tips today? I'm going to re look at my fence install to be sure I don't have any netting under the double spike. My grass is short, lawn mower height, 2-3 inches all around the fence.

Thoughts anyone?
