Energizers

I am using a solar energizer, I think it is about a 5 acre type, not sure of the make (sorry, it's dark out and raining and I'm too lazy to go out and look now, but will later if you need me to) and it appears to not have enough umph to cover my approx. 1 acre area of just a single line of one inch tape (for horses). I've checked all the obvious things to no avail. Question is, can I also clip on my little portable, square "x" volt type energizer (I did get it from you, blue plastic, all in one job) to give it some boost? Seem to recall something about not doing that unless the frequencies were the same, or maybe it was don't do that at all. Please point me in the right direction (ie: publication about it) and/or let me know what I might be able to do to boost what I already have, if I can't do what I'm proposing. Thanks, Karen/Mountainside Farm

We do not suggest using 2 energizers on one fence. Due to the fact that the energizers shock goes out in pulses which is less then a heart beat. If you put 2 energizers on one fence the 2 pulses can go out at the same time and make the shock longer then a heart beat. Which can do damage to your heart and/or your animals.

Try testing the energizer to see if it is the energizer or if you have a short on the fence.
1. Turn off the energizer
2. Disconnect the wires off the energizer (one to the fence and one to the ground rod)
3. Turn on the energizer
4. Take the fence tester and the probe that goes in the ground touch the ground terminal on the energizer.
5. And the part of the tester that usually touches the fence touch the fence terminal on the energizer at the same time.
6. If you get a good reading then you know the short is on the fence.
7. If a low reading(less then 3000 volts) then it is the energizer.

If you have a lot of weeds touching the fence. Try weed eating the fence. Weeds will short out the fence.
