Fixing fence panel

We were cutting around the fence and hit it with the trimmer. Our kit came with some replacement pieces, I'm assuming to do repairs with. I cut the bottom black line right between the white supports, leaving just a hair of black line coming through the support. I also mangled about 3 feet of the next line up (bottom-most white electric line). It is still connected, but kinda fried. We have the poultry fencing hooked up to a solar charger. I would like to know how I'm supposed to use the repair pieces to fix it. Is there a way to take apart the white plastic support piece so I can run the new line through it (like original), or do I just connect it and let it hang? I have no idea what I did with the paperwork that came with it, so hopefully someone can explain it to me, I wasn't really able to find any pertinent information regarding repairs on the website.

If a horizontal wire is broken:

• Disconnect from the power source.
• Cut out the bad portion of the horizontal wire with a pair of scissors.
• Measure out an appropriate amount of the replacement conductive or non-conductive material.
• Tie the replacement material to one side of the break with a square knot. (If possible, twist the metal filaments together of the original material and the splicing material after the knot is made.)
• Repeat the twisting, tying and knot step on the remaining side of the break.
• Place a brass ferrule over each of the square knots and clamp together with a pair of pliers.

I have had real issues with varmints chewing thru the vertical support lines on my poultry netting...sometimes I'll find 2-3' openings. I've found a quick fix that works...I use 7" cable ties and loosely loop the tie between the two horizontal hot wires...this closes the gap without causing the hot wires to touch each other and the critters don't bother it again. Hope this helps others with smart varmints ! Of course this won't work for the horizontal hot wires.
