end posts for 1 wire HT fence

I am thinking about building some interior electric cross fencing using a single strand of 12.5 gauge hi tensile wire. The length will be 1000ft or less. The animals will be 400 lb -900 lb beef calves and/or cows and nursing calves. All animals will be well trained to electric fence before they are turned out. There is no need to make the fence especially tight. My soils are what I call black land clay. I'm in North Central Texas. I want to know if I could use a hydraulic post driver and use a single end post instead of building H-braces. If so, for the end posts, would a 2 3/8" thick walled pipe work? If not, what about a 2 7/8" pipe? What about a 4" treated wood post? If not, how about a 6" treated wood post? Assume the posts are hammered about 3-4 ft. into the ground. If you think bracing is necessary, what would you think about bracing with a wedge loc T-post at 45 degrees down to another T-post wedge loc? Do you have any other ideas for acceptable bracing that would be quicker and more efficient than building H-braces? If you need further info, please let me know. Thank you very much for your advice.

One pipe in the ground 4 feet should work fine as long as you keep the line posts at 25' centers. All you need to do with fence trained cattle is to pull the wire tight enough so it does not sag between the posts. The electricity is the stopping force.
As for the size of the pipe if you have both bigger is always better.
