which electric fence for sheep in hilly area

I am trying to determine which fencing to try for a very rocky and hilly terrain in west Texas. I am thinking an electrifed fence would be easier to install but am worried about the changes in elevation. Do you have a suggestion for me to try?

The fence design with the easiest installation would be a low tension strand fence (quick fence). This type of system allows for posting as necessary with minimal up and down strain on the posts meaning lighter weight posting. Quick fence low tension systems do require more maintenance (because of the electric) than some other low maintenance systems like woven wire. Not an easy design to figure out and install because of the terrain.

Thanks
Scott

Ron,

For a permanent solution I like the combination GreenCoat woven, Smooth and Barbed wire for sheep. Installed with a heavy duty post driver, we have found this design is able to close even rugged ground. The barbed wire bottom strand helps with this alot in a ruff terrain situation.

Hope this helps you. Be safe. Sincerely,
