How to set up a Chick Brooder

Common Uses

Our brooder panels will make any size brooder you prefer. Their modular design allows panels to be added or removed with ease. We allow 0.5 sq ft of space per day-old chick

Specs

Each panel is 16" x 25". The completed size varies according to the number of panels used.

Disposable panels

  • Corrugated cardboard
  • 16" tall x 25" long.
  • 3/16" thick.

Reuseable panels

  • Double-walled plastic. Stiffer than cardboard.
  • Clean with soap and water.
  • 16" tall x 25" long.
  • 1/4" thick.

How to Use

Easy to assemble, just interlock the connector slots.
Six panels make a 37" diameter brooder.
Seven panels make a 50" diameter brooder.

If you are going to place the Heat Lamp Stand in the brooder, you will need 5 panels total in order for the stand to fit inside the brooder.

If the brooder is comprised of 4 panels, two of the stand's legs can fit in the brooder with two on the outside of the brooder.

Benefits

Disposable panels and bedding make excellent mulch for the garden.
Reuseable panels can be cleaned and used again next year.

I feel I'll be able to clean them and use them again. Overall I like them, but the chicks easily jumped out. We put some deer netting over the top secured with clothespins. Taller panels would be great.

Could be taller, but will work until the chicks jump out.

We are new to raising chickens and bought these because they had great reviews and seemed so easy and convenient...and they were for the first week. Our chicks are now just a week and a half old though and are already escaping over the top of the brooder. The sides are not tall enough! They jump on top of the feeders or waterers, onto the top of the brooder panels, and out. I don't know if it's because we are raising freedom ranger broilers and they are bigger, or why these panels seem to work for others and not us. But, my kids are currently keeping guard of the chicks while my husband rushes out to find a new solution to contain them.

The reusable brooder panels are perfect. Very sturdy, easy to clean, and you can make whatever size of pen you need. They shipped very quickly and in a perfect size box. Wish I had found them when we first got chicks!

Quick and easy to put together. The interlocking panels look sturdier that using holes and zip ties. The down side of this is a little lost floor space which is worth the difference.

So easy and inexpensive! I had been using large cardboard boxes for brooding, but this is so much better; quick to set up and take down, expandable, cleanable, nothing could be better!

I am a first time chicken keeper. I ordered the disposable Brooder panels for my 14 new ckicks I ordered. The shipmemt was here in no time at all and my chicks were placed inside the brooder with pine shavings , food and water and of course there heating light. For the time being until there coop is finished being built, they are in my garage. I love watching them play, scratch and practice flying inside there little home. Very easy to assemble and great for my next flock of ckicks . Thank you Premier for getting the order prossed as quickly as you did.
