Heat Lamp Stand
For hanging our Prima Heat Lamp above poultry brooders. Adjustable height allows user to control the surface temperature of the brooder floor.
- Lamp hanging system
- Easy to assemble
- Large 28" x 28" footprint
Instructions/Diagrams:
Specs
- Erected: 28"W x 42"H
- Disassembled/Collapsed: 6"L, 6"W, 42"H
- Chain: 26" for adjusting preferred height
Adjustable height allows user to control the surface temperature of the brooder floor.
Hanging system includes:
- Strong, one-piece legs, no weak middle. (The previous design with 2-piece legs wasn't stable enough, in our view.)
- Metal heat lamp holder.
- Large chain (to adjust height, attach links to holder).
- Heat lamp clip (securely holds lamp to chain). Note: If you need a replacement, see "Replacement" tab above.
Installation
Only use a manual phillips screwdriver to attach the leg screws. Do not use a screw gun or powered drill. Manual use allows users to "feel" the tension and stop. Powered tools do not allow for this, causing users to strip the plastic holding the screws. Our installation video shows the use of a screw-gun, the tension is set to "1" and the installer is familiar with the sensitivities of plastic legs and metal screws.

I cannot believe the poor engineering in this stand. It has steel screws going into a tiny hole in the soft plastic legs. The holes will get bigger and bigger, and 2 of mine just stripped to the point where there was no more hold for the threads, making the stand totally unusable, not to mention that you cannot disassemble it and expect to be able to use it again next season. I used to work in aviation engineering and when you had metal fasteners fastening a soft or weak product, you put an INSERT into that product, so the metal had metal-to-metal contact strength. We ended up stacking crates to either side of our brooder and attaching a broom handle with zip ties from which to hang the lamp.

Best stand going. Holds up well and is very sturdy.

I am disappointed in the quality of the heat lamp stand. The screws will not all tighten and the bars fall off. The concept of the stand is great but the material is cheap. For the cost of this stand I would not recommend it.

Perfect stand for the lamp. It allows me to adjust to whatever length I need, so as my chicks grow I can raise the lamp higher to accommodate the proper temp.

We are a huge fan of Premier 1. They always seem to have really creative ideas and solutions with quality products. When we first saw this idea for the light stand, it looked brilliant for our typical brooder situation. However, this is not a quality product, the Achilles heel is the cheap plastic legs. I didn't even manage to actually use the stand, it didn't make it past the assembly stage. Several of the small metal screws stripped out of the plastic legs, enlarging the hole, making the stand unusable. I decided to return the stand, which cost me nearly $20 because Premier did not give me a return label. Perhaps I should have kept it and modified the legs using bolts, like another reviewer suggested. I do not recommend this product at all. The design needs to change.
