Restraint and Transport
How to hold chickens
The best way to hold chickens and other fowl is to rest their breast on your forearm and support them with your hand between their legs. Place one leg between your pinky and ring finger, and the other between the index and middle.
Catch and transport
When taking birds in or out of cages or crates, always go head first! That way birds can see where they’re going, remaining relaxed. We use our sturdy plastic poultry crates for transporting birds.
