having trouble getting lambs to bottle feed
Author: Ranbir Chawla

We have 2 newborn ram lambs (Thursday night) and the mother is not making enough milk for either one, much less 2. We've tried to get them to bottle feed using the pritchard teats and a plastic bottle. So far we've had to tube feed them, but that is getting old for all of us. Any suggestions.

Thank you.

Sometimes lambs will starve while they are on their mothers. They bond to her and
except the fact that she does not feed them enough. I would take the strongest lamb away and make an orphan out of him. The ewe may have enough milk to feed one. Once the lamb is on it's own it will nurse from the bottle with less hassle.
