water gaps

Our meadow has several "pot holes" that are deep enough that the sheep can go right under the wires without touching. We are considering trying to use your down rod to create a barrier without having to put posts into these very wet areas. I can not find an explaination of the difference between downlinks and spicelinks. Our bottom wire is currently only one high tensile wire. What method of attaching down links to the high tensile wire would you recommend?

Another alternative is to try the duck bills to pull extra wires down to fill the hole. I've wondered about using a joint clamp to join extra wires to the main wire and then pulling it down with the duck bill. Does this idea have potential? Right now our posts are far enough apart that they aren't right at the edge of the pothole for the most part, making using insulators to hold the extra wires difficult.

Also, I can not find sprayline marking chalk on the website have you stopped selling it? If so, why?

Thanks for your input.

Down Links (an "L" piece) are for connecting the Down rods to the High tensile wire to suspend. Splice links are to make the rods longer (connect two pieces together) and are not often used due to not needing rods longer than 8' very often. The process of using an earth anchor such as duckbill can be used also. The anchor is normally used to hold a post down in the low area. This also puts down pressure on the posts on either side of the low spot thus those posts on either side need to be able to resist the pressure of the wire that is trying to pull them into the soil.
The Sprayline (a great product) we have is no longer shippable due to US DOT rules and regulations thus has been dropped from web and catalogs. The only way we can sell Sprayline to you is if you physically come to Premier and personally pick up.

Thanks
Scott
