Ram - blood in urine

I bought a new ram about 2 weeks ago and he now has blood in his urine and is losing weight. He comes from a fairly high maintenance operation (show sheep) and doesn't seem enthusiastic about grazing (I've got lots of Spring rye grass and clover growing). As such, he has been on a diet of alfalfa hay and COB mix. The former owners did not vaccinate at all. He is not very active (perhaps just ram behavior?). I recently added a preventive dose of Corid to his water because he is sharing a fence with affected sheep.

Any ideas about what is going on? I once heard that too much protein could be a cause. What about clostrial disease? Suggestions would be appreciated.

If the ram has any value to you then you should have a vet look at him. I would not want to give advice with out seeing the animal.
