Intellishock 20BBattery Energizer

We've been using the intellishock 20B battery Engerizer with the Ezepower alkaline 9 volt battery since the end of May. We move the VersaNet 20 (20 X164) net weekly to mow.
I am getting a green flashing light /along side red light indicating a need to change 9 volt battery. when I press the test button. I thought with keeping the weeds down and moving the fence regularly that this battery would last 2 seasons. I don't see a red light indicating it is working. I tested the fence to see if there was any charge and it registers 2000 volts . We had some initial sagging of the fence so we purchased additional Stirrup posts to support in between fence posts. I am at a loss as to the problem.
We had purchased some additional netting but haven't been able to use it yet(doesn't seem we are going to be able to use it).
Any help, advice will be greatly appreciated.

The flashing Green light indicates the 9V battery is fine or a 12 volt battery needs recharged. The red light indicates that the fence has a load (shorting). The test button red light normally activates when voltage drop to 2,000 or less. With fence voltages at 2000 the units battery usage is higher than if the fences voltage is at 5,000 +. With the unit being load sensitive you may not get the two seasons out of the battery. The battery is also subject to the normal self discharging that all batteries are subject to when not in use will also effect the battery usage.
Thanks
Scott
