pos/neg fencing ?

It is very dry here, almost drought-like. I rewired my pastures in a pos/neg fashion, but still have (hogs) pushing through. The tester shows up to 4400 volts going through. Why would they still be challenging the fence? Also, I've installed a lot of extra ground rods, down the fenceline. Still the challenging and escapes. Help?

We would agree that your fence (pos/neg) with 4,400 volts on it should be providing an adequate shock to control animals especially hogs. With the results you are having one would wonder if your energizer is simply not strong enough. Or possibly a conductivity problem (bad connections or poor conductivity) that is allowing the voltage to flow but not allowing the joules (energy that causes pain) to flow. These are the two primary things to start looking at.

Thanks
Scott
