feral hogs

I am having a problem with feral hogs rooting in a newly seeded field of Max Q Fescue. The rooting is destroying the tender hair like seedlings. The size of the field is about 35 acres. I am considering putting an electric fence around it. Do you know if that will exclude the hogs? How many wires will it require? How many inches should the low wire be off the ground? How many inches above that should the other wire(s) be? Can I use low tensile fence or is high tensile required? Any suggestions on how to train wild hogs to respect the fence? Any suggestions or experiences? Any other questions that I should be asking? Thank you,
Craig Watson

Craig
For a temporary type fence a short version of a sheep fence (3 strands 6", 12" and 18"-20") usually works very well as long as fence is properly electrified 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Keeping proper electrification is one of the keys thus your energizer selection will need to be larger than if electrifying cattle type fences due to the "weed" load the fence will have.

Thanks
Scott
