Will the 617990 Premier XTag Applicator work to apply the 2X Tamperproof tags?

It will apply the old 2X tamper proof tags if you take the black
plastic insert out of the female side of the tagger.

Okay, so how can I tell if I have the old one? These are the ones that I received for the voluntary scrapies program.

Look at the male pin and at the tip that goes through the ear. If it is round
then it is the old one. If it is flat on two sides then it is the new tag.
