Bull Fencing

Hello,

I am aquiring a Bull for my cows. He is about a year old. I want to keep him away from my heifer calves until the girls are old enough to breed. I wanted to keep the heifers with the two older milk cows who come in to be fed and milked twice daily. This way they learn the routine and can be handled.
My current bull lives with these cows ( he is respected greatly and I am in no way recommending to anyone to keep bulls) now but since I don't line breed I am trading him in for another bull. The heifers are in with my milking does but they are typical calves and I need to move them out since I don't want any does injured due to playfulness.
I have a very small place so space is limited. I have to keep the bull and heifers seperated until this September or October when he will be put back in with the herd.
I was considering keeping the new bull in with the pony. The pony is handled daily also and will not take any amourous attention from the bull and the pony will probably teach some manners as he has in the past. The fence is four foot livestock (six inch box) wire fence held up with t-posts. I was going to put a mid and top wire of electric (on extended insulators) to inspire the bull to stay in. I also know nature calling is a powerful thing and usually an electric fencer can not command enough respect or inspire the young to stay in.
My bucks respect this type of fence but I don't know if this will be enough for a bull. I have had bull jump over this type of fence but they were right next fence to the heifers. The new location is several hundred yards away and sight unseen. I also know that the youngsters will bellow to him when the season is right. My choosing or not.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

The key to stopping this bull is to use a large energizer and train
him well in advance of when you need it.

If you are fencing less than 30 acres the hotshock 150 or the 300 will
work just fine.
