Other than ear tags or tattooing is there a permanent type marker to just write on the sheep. I used the spray paint and it is good but does not last past 6 weeks.

There is nothing that will be permanent for sheep.

Would a black "Sharpie" marker be harmful to the sheep if I mark on the back of the ear?

Marking on the ear will not hurt thesheep.
