lamb milk "bars" or feeders
Author: Nancy

I want to get lamb milk feeders to accommodate about five or six lambs who need supplemental milk replacer (they are on the ewes, but need more...multiple lambs, old ewes). The most convenient would hang on a gate, but a self-standing pail would be ok, I suppose (although what keeps them from being tipped over?).

I'd like to know what pails/nipples/etc. you'd suggest. I'd also like to know whether to feed the replacer WARM on a schedule, or free-choice (which I assume would have to be chilled to prevent spoiling?).

Your help will be much appreciated so I can go ahead and order something asap. I'm rather tired of mixing multiple bottles often and making all those trips back and forth to the barn. Especially very late and very early!

Thank you,
Nancy Hebb

If you want to make less trips to the barn then you should use cold milk.
Use the square bucket with teats at the bottom. One teat for every three
lambs. The bucket will hang on a gate and you can fill it once a day.
