problems with shear head

I have a premier shearer 4000c and i have several types of blades. The problem i am having is that the spitfire and spirit combs and cutters i have seem to cause the headto break, the bar which goes across the two forks seems to break. The problem only occurs with the premier blades. when I use a smaller older oster comb i never have a problem. i do not have the tension super tight. what am i doing wrong?
