Selecting the proper Energizer

I recently purchased the electrostop netting and would like to know which energizer would be best for containment of goats. I prefer a unit with an output of 5.0 to 7.0 released joules. I dont want to damage the netting either.

prefered choices: Hotshock 1000, Hotshock 600, or "The Billy".

Before I can answer the question of which energizer. I would need to know
how many sections of net you are using, and what the weed load on the net
will be. An energizer with 5-7 released joules is large enough to run 25-30
nets if the conditions are right. If your just running a few sections you should
use a smaller unit.

Right now I only have one section (164') of the Pos/Neg Electro Stop 10/42/12. At the most, I'll propably only use four sections at a time in combination with some poly wire. I would still like to have a unit that will energize a poly wire or high tensile wire and maintain enough of a jolt to deter predators and contain crafty goats. I have been told that 5-7 joules will do the trick.

A 1-2 joule unit would work fine on the amount of fence you are talking about.
The only reason to go larger would be if your weed load was high.
